SSG Landers won a new victory over the Samsung Lions with their powerful mound power.
SSG won 3-2 in a home game against Samsung in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League, held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on the 30th.안전놀이터
In the bottom of the first inning, SSG overpowered Samsung starter Albert Suarez, whose pitch was shaky.
Leading batter Choi Ji-hoon’s infield hit, Park Seong-han’s right-handed hit, and Choi Jeong’s hit ball secured the chance to secure the bases safely.
SSG continued to push Suarez. Follow-up hitter Choi Joo-hwan hit a sacrifice hit to make it 3-0.
From the second inning, the game continued with a lull. Suarez succeeded in zeroing in the second inning, and the SSG lineup rarely scored an extra run.
SSG starter Kirk McCarty fought hard with no hits until 2 out in the 5th inning, but Samsung Lee Jae-hyun allowed a solo home run to narrow the gap to 3-1.
McCarty gave up a walk to lead hitter Kang Min-ho and a heavy hit to follow-up hitter Kim Dong-jin in the 7th inning when his stamina was low, so he was driven to 1st and 2nd base safely and was in danger of a tie.
SSG put out Noh Kyung-eun, the No. 1 hold, to put out the fire. Noh Kyung-eun was put in a crisis with 1 company and 1st and 2nd bases in the 8th inning, but she wiped her sweat once again by catching Jose Pirella with a double stroke.
The winner was the 9th. SSG finisher Seo Jin-yong gave up a walk to lead hitter Min-ho Kang, then hit Dong-jin Kim for a heavy hit and Jae-hyun Lee for a left-handed hit, putting him on the verge of being loaded with one out.
He then allowed Kim Tae-goon a right-handed hit, leading to 3-2.
Seo Jin-yong, who was on the verge of a reversal, did not collapse in the end. He ended the game by striking out Kang Han-wool and Koo Ja-wook in a row in the crisis of one company loaded.
SSG starter McCarty pitched well with 2 hits, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts and 1 run in 6⅓ innings, winning his 5th win (2 losses) of the season, and Seo Jin-yong, the leader in relief, harvested his 18th save.
SSG also wrote a record of going undefeated in 25 games leading up to the 5th inning this season.
Suarez, the Samsung starter, played well with 8 hits, 5 strikeouts and 3 runs in 7 innings, but became a losing pitcher.
