‘One Step Closer to 40,000’ LeBron James Reaches 39,000 Career Points

LeBron James is still making history in his 21st season.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz 131-99 in the 2023-2024 NBA regular season on Dec. 22 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

LeBron James led the team’s offense with 17 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists in the win. He could have finished with more, but it was a respectable stat line considering he only played 24 minutes as the game got out of hand early.

LeBron is now in his 21st season in the NBA after making his debut in 2003, but there are no signs of aging in his early season performance. Through 14 games this season, LeBron is averaging 25.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.

What’s particularly impressive is his shooting efficiency. His 58.7% field goal percentage is higher than what he posted as a younger version of himself earlier in his career, in Cleveland’s first season, or a decade ago in Miami, when he was a dominant, physically-based rim attacker. His 41.0 percent three-point percentage is also just shy of the career-high 40.6 percent he posted in the 2012-2013 season.

In addition, LeBron, who passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar last season to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, reached the 39,000-point milestone with a 3-pointer early in the first quarter at 8-7. This puts him one step closer to the all-time milestone of 40,000 points 토토사이트.

LeBron added three more 3-pointers on the night to move past Vince Carter into seventh place on the all-time 3-pointers made list.

With LeBron continuing to perform like a flower that refuses to fade, the Lakers are on a roll, winning their third straight game and improving to 9-6 on the season, good for fifth place in the Western Conference.
