Riot Games announced on its SNS on the 23rd (Korea time) that it selected “Faker” Lee Sang-hyuk as the first inductee of the LoL e-sports legend hall. Lee Sang-hyuk, who debuted in 2013, lifted four LoL World Championships, two mid-season Invitational (MSI) and 10 LCK championship trophies.
One professional player is inducted into the LoL esports legend hall each year, and the selection of inductees is carried out by an independent voting group of esports industry veterans and experts from each region. Riot Games is planning to produce and present decorative contents, collections, and skins themed with “Campaign King” (the nickname of “Faker”) for Faker Lee Sang-hyuk, the inductee of the first LoL esports legend. The legendary skins of Faker are known to be LeBlanc and Ari.
“Faker is the most iconic and influential figure in the history of League of Legends and esports,” said John Needham, chief executive of Riot Games’ esports division. “It is the epitome of excellence in LoL esports and is qualified to be the first inductee of the Hall of Legends.”
Meanwhile, Riot Games released a video trailer related to Faker’s induction into the legendary hall of fame on its social media. The official version will be released on June 15.
