Chungcheong Province’s first international tennis stadium to open in 2027

The first international tennis stadium in the Chungcheong area will open in 2027.

Chungcheongnam-do announced on the 4th that it has completed the establishment of a basic plan to build a tennis stadium for the first international competition in Chungcheong Province with 20 international courts on the 50,541㎡ site of Naepo New Town.

The construction of the international competition-class stadium is in line with the hosting of the 2027 Summer World University Games in Chungcheong Province, and is aimed at completion in February 2027.

Since last year, the province has been promoting services to select target sites and establish basic plans. In the meantime, the province has held several advisory meetings with related experts, including public architects and the chairman of the Korea Tennis Association’s accredited committee.

The final established basic plan was announced on the provincial website on the 18th of last month, and anyone can freely read it. 꽁머니사이트

The project will be located at San 66-5, Sinyeong-ri, Hongbuk-eup, Hongseong-gun, where the development site for the Naepo New Town is located. It plans to build a total of 20 international tennis courts and 400 parking lots within the 5,541 square meters of land.

The details of the facility are a total of 20 facilities, including Center Court Stadium, where more than 3,000 spectators will watch the final, one 1,000-seat show court, eight main stadium courts, six auxiliary stadium practice courts, and four 500-seat indoor courts that can play the final in case of rain.

The estimated project cost will cost a total of 134.8 billion won, including land purchase costs, reserve costs, and facility incidental expenses.

Based on the basic plan, the province plans to quickly implement pre-administrative procedures such as deliberation on bidding methods, and order the project in a design and construction package next month.

As it is an international competition, it is possible to host various competitions and events even after the 2027 Summer World University Games in Chungcheong Province. It is expected to revitalize the region in various ways, including promoting the province and Naepo New Town, revitalizing the economy, developing professional and living sports, and improving settlement conditions.

Song Moo-kyung, director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the province, said, “We have secured a tennis stadium that can host the only international and national competitions in the Chungcheong region along with the Chungnam Sports Center, which will be the center of sports for all,” adding, “We will do our best to prevent disruptions in the construction of the stadium where the world competition will be held.”
