Women’s basketball new stars step on the professional stage.
The Korean Women’s Basketball Federation 메이저사이트 (WKBL) held the 2024-2025 WKBL Rookie Draft at Bucheon Gymnasium on the 20th.
A total of 28 people participated in the draft, including 22 high school graduates, three college graduates, one college student, one Korean foreign player and one overseas athlete. Twelve of them were selected. This year’s nomination rate stood at 42.85 percent, the same as last year’s, and below the all-time average rate of 47.4 percent.
The honor of the first place was taken by Hong Yoo-soon, a center from Osaka Industrial University. Shinhan Bank, which has the first right to nominate, chose Hong Yoo-soon. Hong Yoo-soon, a former member of the 3-on-3 basketball center, was honored with the first place for her outstanding athletic ability.
The second candidate was Kim Do-yeon, the center of Dongju Girls’ High School. BNK Sum, the second candidate, chose Chung Hyeon, the forward of Soongui Girls’ High School, and Choi Ye-seul, the fourth candidate of Yongin Samsung Life Insurance, the forward of Chuncheon Girls’ High School. Song Yoon-ha, the fifth candidate of Cheongju KB Kookmin Bank, the center of Sookmyung Girls’ High School, and Lee Min-ji, the guard of Sookmyung Girls’ High School, was picked by Asan Woori Bank, the sixth.
