Professional baseball’s all-time box office hit…”10 Million Audience” is just around the corner

Professional baseball, which surpassed 9 million spectators for the first time in its history, is looking at the era of 10 million spectators.

A total of 69,559 spectators attended the five professional baseball games held on Friday, bringing the total number of spectators in the KBO League to 9,0904. It is the first time that the number of spectators has exceeded 9 million since the inauguration of the pro baseball league in 1982.

The KBO League surpassed the mark of 9 million in 61 games and 15 days after reaching 8 million in 549 games on Aug. 13. Despite the scorching weather, the average attendance of more than 15,000 spectators entered the stadium in August.

This season’s average monthly attendance was the highest at 15,529 in March, the opening of the season, second with 15,398 in August and third with 15,236 in June.
In May and July, the average number of spectators was 14,881 and 14,832 respectively, and in April, it was the only one with 13,262 with an average of 13,000 spectators.

The average audience for the entire season is 14,756, which is worth aiming for an average of 15,000 spectators.

In terms of attendance by day of the week, the increase in attendance on weekdays is the most noticeable. Last season’s weekday series (Tuesday to Thursday) had an average of less than 10,000 spectators, but this season, it has recorded more than 10,000 with 11,863 on Tuesday, 12,834 on Wednesday and 12,977 on Thursday.

The number of spectators for the weekend series (Friday to Sunday) also increased significantly from last year. The average attendance of the series did not exceed 15,000 except for Saturdays last season, but this season the average attendance of the series was 15,849 on Fridays, 18,641 on Saturdays, and 16,802 on Sundays.

More and more clubs have exceeded 1 million spectators. The Doosan Bears surpassed 1 million spectators when they played 58 home games on the 8th, and the Samsung Lions also surpassed 1 million spectators on the 14th when they played 58 home games.

LG, which exceeded 1 million spectators on the 16th, achieved the fewest number of games with 53 home games, and KIA Tigers achieved 1 million spectators in 59 games on the 28th.

SSG Landers (951,776) and Lotte Giants (935,869), who exceeded 900,000 spectators, were also on the verge of 1 million spectators.

Interest in social media related to professional baseball is also on the rise.

KBO Instagram subscribers rose 60% from 236,228 as of December last year to about 379,000 as of the end of August this year.

KBO YouTube subscribers rose about 118% from 98,000 as of December last year to 214,000 as of the end of this month, and the video of the band Day6 performed at the All-Star Game this year has the highest number of views with 1.4 million views. 안전놀이터
