Musetti advances to major semifinals for the first time in his career

Lorenzo Musetti (25th, Italy) reached the semi-finals of a major tournament for the first time in his career and inflated his dream of winning.

Musetti defeated Taylor Fritz of the U.S. by a score of 3 to 2 (3 to 67 to 6 <7 to 5> 6 to 6 to 6) in the men’s singles quarterfinals at the Wimbledon tennis tournament (total prize money of 50 million pounds, about 87.5 billion won) held at the All England Club in London on the 10th (local time).

Musetti will face Novak Djokovic (2nd, Serbia) in the semifinals to advance to the finals. 퀸알바

Musetti, who was born in 2002, had his best record in the round of 16 at the French Open in 2021 and 2023 in the majors before this tournament.

Djokovic and Musetti are leading Djokovic with five wins and one loss. At the third round of this year’s French Open, which they played each other the most recently, Djokovic won a three-to-two (7:56:7 <6:8>2:66:36:0).

Djokovic also had a close five-set match in the round of 16 at the time, and eventually withdrew from the quarterfinals after failing to overcome the aftermath of playing in five sets for two consecutive games.
