Park, who recently voiced his criticism toward the Korea Football Association, attended as a reference.
On the Korea Football Association’s side, Hong and Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, attended as witnesses and explained the controversy over the appointment of the coach. Chairman Chung said, “I don’t think there was any illegality,” and Hong, the person in charge, also stressed, “I don’t think there was unfair or preferential treatment.”
However, the committee failed to provide clear evidence. In response, Park harshly criticized the Korea Football Association under Chairman Chung.
“While listening to the questioning today (on the issue), I felt once again that ‘the presidential system of Chung Mong-gyu is about to end,'” he said. “(The Korea Football Association) has no problem consciousness and no ability to empathize. It means it has no ability to solve it.”
“When Coach Hong Myung-bo was appointed in an unfair way, the leader I know said, ‘Now I’m going to quit as a leader,'” he said. “It’s hard for a leader without a name to coach or coach a professional team even if he keeps rolling for 10 or 15 years from the bottom. If someone gives a national team coach while giving him preferential treatment like that, he said, ‘I can’t coach anymore.’ “
“These incompetence, incompetence, and injustice are not an incident, but they will have to be repeated as long as the current chairman Chung Mong-gyu system continues,” he said, adding, “In that sense, I think the fans and the people reaffirmed, ‘Shouldn’t the (chairman Chung’s system) end now?’ to the Korea Football Association.”

He said, “Chairman Chung Mong-gyu should resign before the start of the national audit. Since the questioning of pending issues and the inspection of state affairs are different, it is bound to end poorly when it ends,” and added, “More harsh things may happen. It is better to quit on your own for the sake of Chairman Chung Mong-gyu and for the sake of Korean soccer that you love.”
Meanwhile, the ministry plans to make an interim announcement on Oct. 2 to find out whether there was any problem in the process of appointing Hong. With the parliamentary inspection going on from Oct. 7 to 25, Chung will have to appear at the National Assembly again on Tuesday as a witness to the parliamentary inspection of the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee.
